This Sports Businesss Simulations simulator was developed to present and provide a tool to evaluate a proposal for a new alternative source of revenue for the Raiders Bonds issued by the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority.
The proposal is to have two kinds of ticket surcharges:
1. One on all events at the Coliseum, and
2. The other on Raiders tickets and different with seat location.
The Raiders PSL revenue collection program would be dispanded in favor of this alternative method.
You can use this free simulator to not only see how much revenue the proposal would generate, but to also try different sizes of surcharges, and various assumptions regarding number of annual events and attendance. Play around with it.
Keep in mind that this is a very simple simulation game, and does not include equations representing team records, economic conditions and price sensitivity, or capacity limit factors, all of which impact attendance at the Coliseum.
To start the simulation, press "Begin Simulation." At the decisions page, you can run the simulation by pressing "Simulate," or type in different numbers, then press "Simulate," or change the length of the sim run by altering the choice from "Advance One Step," which is one year. You can elect to run the sim through the entire 11 year period in one advance, by changing the "Advance One Step" drop down button.
