The XFL was a football league and the product of a partnership between NBC
and the World Wrestling Federation. While its business plan called for it to
live for at least five years, it ceased to exist in April of 2001, the victim
of poor ratings born of a poor business strategy.
This is your chance to become the CEO of
the league, improve upon that business strategy, and establish a new blueprint
for startup sports leagues. Your objective is to achieve a high score by
posting great TV ratings, a positive cash flow, and a five (or longer) year league life, causing
NBC to realize a return on its' $50 million investment as was planned, rather than turn to UPN and a lesser contract.
